Job Overview:

Our dock associates are the backbone of our facilities. Using digital scanners and top-notch modern equipment, they manage the day-to-day loading and unloading of freight throughout our system in a safe and professional atmosphere. Due to the familiarity with how we work, they make great candidates for operational leaders when new positions open.
PRIOR DOCK / WAREHOUSE / FORKLIFT EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

This is a Monday - Friday position working 5:30 am to 2:30 pm

Must have CDL-A. Candidates will be hired on as full time dock worker with the understanding that he / she will complete the Averitt driver training and be placed into a full time driver associate position immediately following training.

Dock Worker Functions:
Load/Unload freight -lift requirement: 80 lbs
Move freight - force requirement: 54 lbs
Open/Close trailer door - force requirement: 46 lbs
Count freight
Operate scanner
Complete manifest
Operate forklift
Regular predictable attendance

Requirements

- 18 years of age
- Must have CDL-A
- No convictions for Reckless Driving within the past 5 years
- Valid Driver's License
- No convictions for DUI within the past 5 years
- No suspensions or revocations within the past 5 years
- No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
