Job Overview:

Averitt currently has an opening for an Import Coordinator! This exciting career opportunity offers an unique experience and entails: - Monday- Friday 8:00 am- 5:00 pm- You will receive on-the-job training designed to develop knowledge of the freight forwarding industry and US Customs. - Communicate via email with overseas agents to request rates and facilitate booking of shipments, both ocean and air. - Collect and transmit data to US Customs. - Maintain all documents related to each shipment and verifying their accuracy. - Rate and bill all shipments into Airtraks system. - Track cargo and provide up-to-date status to customers and brokerage personnel. - Approve and process payables and customer invoicing. - Arrange delivery with outside carriers, as well as Averitt Truckload, Averitt Integrated, Averitt Expedited, and Averitt SVC's depending on shipment type. - Work with Transportation Specialists to strengthen customer relations and quality of service. REQUIREMENTS SECTION: - High School diploma or GED required; College degree preferred. - 6 months customer service or import operations experience preferred. - Extreme attention to detail- Strong aptitude for numbers- Efficient written/verbal communication skills- Excellent organizational skills- Exceptional customer service- Proficient with email, Word, and Excel
